Jussie Smollett... is there anything better than the "Empire" star? Prior to joining the hit Fox show Smollett was a relative unknown, but a star has been born with Smollett playing the smooth-talking, sweet and insanely talented singer Jamal Lyon. The star, who came out as gay this year, is definitely going to be a massive icon -- and dare we say, might even pass up Terrence Howard someday.

Wagner Moura's rise to fame as drug kingpin Pablo Escobar in Netflix's "Narcos," is almost as impressive as his alter-ego's drug ring. The Brazilian-born actor learned Spanish in a pinch in order to play the horrifying, real-life villain and his performance, with piercing stares and menacing moments make him one of the best characters on TV right now.
