Don't Ask Tia Mowry If She's Pregnant: 'It's A Form Of Body Shaming'

Tia Mowry is making her stance very clear on pregnancy rumors that have surrounded her since earlier this year: It's a form of body shaming, and it needs to stop immediately.

Mowry, actress and mother of one, told HuffPost Live that she and her husband are not expecting baby number two anytime soon. But that certainly didn't stop people from speculating and spreading rumors about her being pregnant after an unflattering photo of her at a red carpet event made its rounds on the web.

Mowry went on to explain that she believes the rumors are the result of the constant speculation of women's bodies, which she considers a product of our society that is "so obsessed with being perfect." %shareLinks-quote="It is a form of body shaming, I will say that, and it's pretty unfortunate. Why can't we just be us?"" type="quote" author="Tia Mowry" authordesc="" isquoteoftheday="false"% Ultimately, Mowry defended herself, saying the extra weight she's gained this year is a result of her pursuing one of her long time passions-- namely, her new cooking show Tia Mowry at Home. %shareLinks-quote="I am not pregnant, I am just happy. I've gained these extra 10 [or] 15 pounds because of my cooking show. I'm just enjoying life and when I want to drop the pounds, I will, but right now I'm happy with who I am." type="quote" author="Tia Mowry" authordesc="" isquoteoftheday="false"% The 90's star also put rude Instagram commenters on blast, saying that the negativity towards certain body shapes "needs to stop."

We need to be more supportive with body images, especially with women, showing that all sizes are beautiful. And I'm talking about in magazines, advertisement[s] in regard to what's sexy and what's not sexy. We all need to be a little more supportive of each other. I think if we start there, we'll see a difference.

As Taylor Swift would say, haters gonna hate. Keep up the good work, Tia!
