Elf on the Shelf 'Wanted' By Massachusetts Police Department

BOURNE, Mass.(WPIX) — A familiar holiday face has made it on the Bourne police's most wanted list.

A police department in Massachusetts took to Facebook Sunday to post mug shots of the popular holiday trouble maker "Elf on the Shelf."

The police said he is wanted "in a string of ginger bread house invasions."

The toy which parents often use as the eyes and ears of Santa Claus is supposed to keep children good during the holiday season.

The police department warned everyone that he is a "specialist in covert surveillance," and that if he is found he should not be touched as he might report it back to his "jolly kingpin."
