World AIDS Day

By AOL Inc.

Today is World AIDS Day -- a day devoted to fighting against HIV, to supporting those living with the disease, and to honoring those who have have died from it. At AOL Inc., we have partnered with (RED) in their mission to deliver the first AIDS free generation. (RED) has been partnering with the private sector since 2006 to raise money for the Global Fund to fight AIDS, 100% of which goes to financing programs that provide testing, treatment, prevention and counseling to those who need it. To date, (RED) has benefited the lives of 60 million people affected by the disease, with a special focus on eight African countries and ending mother-to-child transmission of HIV.

Our friends at (RED) have saved the lives of millions of people with HIV by getting them the medication they need, and millions of others through prevention and education. Thanks to their work, new infections are finally on the decline and women with HIV are receiving drugs that prevent the transmission of the virus to their babies. (RED) is making real impact in the fight to end the AIDS pandemic.

Making a difference is in AOL's culture and code. Nearly every day, we unleash initiatives focused on making the world a better place. With a philanthropic and volunteer focus on investing in women and youth, strengthening our local communities and empowering our audiences to join us in doing good, we are proud to have our global brands stand with (RED) today in their fight for an AIDS free generation.
