History of Barbie movie in the works for Reese Witherspoon

The History Of Barbie

Dreams really do come true!

The Tracking Board reports that Reese Witherspoon is developing, and potentially starring in, a movie about the origins of the Barbie doll — through her production company, Pacific Standard.

Witherspoon and Bruna Papandrea founded Pacific Standard in 2012, a film production company with a strong emphasis on female protagonists.

The story of the Barbie doll's history comes from the 2010 book "Barbie and Ruth: The Story of the World's Most Famous Doll and the Woman Who Created Her," written by Robin Gerber.

It seems that the Barbie movie adaption is a very new project, as the Tracking Board reports that "Pacific Standard is in development with the origin story of the iconic Barbie doll, its company and its creator."

Pacific Standard has been behind the box-office hits of "Wild," "Gone Girl," as "Hot Pursuit;" as well as several other exciting projects in the works, including the movie production of best-selling novel "Big Little Lies."

Looks like there's a lot to look forward in years to come with the ladies of Pacific Standard!
