Vanessa Scali met actress Anna Kendrick in Toronto a few years ago and as it goes with most of us when Kendrick is involved, it was love at first sight.
"She\'s smart and witty and down-to-earth and lovely," says Scali.
But when it comes to doing her up, "She has a tiny and delicate face so you can\'t overpower her. She\'s extremely fair. You need a delicate touch with her."
For the AMAs, Scali let the Christopher Kane dress take center stage. "There\'s a lot going on there. I wanted her to look effortlessly sexy, not overdone," says Scali. "We went to her house. We did it in an hour and a half. It was relaxed and the result was effortlessly sexy."
Here\'s how she did it, using all Chantecaille products. Hey, there\'s a reason editors everywhere love them.
First, Scali applied Future Skin Foundation in Alabaster by starting at the center of her face and working outwards for a sheer, natural finish, followed by Le Camouflage Stylo in 1 where necessary and used Liquid Lumiere in Sheen to add soft highlights. She then applied Loose Powder in Light .
She then shaped her brows, and applied the gorgeous Le Chrome Luxe Eye Duo in Tibet, above the crease and extended it out past the natural corners of the eyes.
As for her lips, Scali applied the classic rosebud hue Larkspur.
