The Los Angeles premiere for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay -- Part 2 has been scaled back after the recent terrorist attack in Paris.
Press interviews on the red carpet (which was scheduled to be two hours) have been canceled. Instead, the stars of the film -- including Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth, Elizabeth Banks and Josh Hutcherson -- will likely only greet fans and take a few photos before heading into the screening in downtown Los Angeles. The afterparty is still scheduled to be held at the event deck at L.A. Live.
"Out of respect for the very recent events in Paris, we have decided to modify our red carpet and we will not conduct interviews at Monday's Mockingjay 2 premiere," said a statement from Lionsgate. "We will proceed with the rest of the event as planned in honor of the incredible fans who have always supported our films with such passion."
Mockingjay -- Part 2, which wraps up the YA series that focuses on Katniss Everdeen's battle against the corrupt government in a dystopian society, has been on a world tour of premieres, previously hitting Madrid, Spain and Paris.
Mockingjay -- Part 2 was partly shot in Paris, along with Atlanta and Germany.
