Family reveals YouTube star's death due to undetected heart condition

The family of YouTube star Caleb Logan Bratayley, who died suddenly last month, has revealed that his death was caused by an undetected heart condition.

A post on the family's official Instagram page stated that a doctor confirmed on Tuesday that the 13-year-old had Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy, which went undetected in his yearly checkups.

"Caleb didn't have any symptoms so the doctor said there was nothing we could have done differently," the post on the page managed by his mother continued. "The girls' hearts were just recently checked and thankfully look the way they should right now."

The Bratayley family, whose page of home videos on YouTube has more than a billion views, previously said that tests revealed that Caleb died from "an undetected medical condition" and "natural causes."

The post indicated that the family is still mourning Caleb's death.

"The sadness of losing someone you love is unimaginable. Thank you to everyone who has reached out, your kindness and support continues to help our family. We miss our baked potato everyday," the post stated.

The family is among Disney-owned media company Maker Studios' creators.
