Upcoming Release: 'In the Heart of the Sea'

The Ron Howard-directed historical adventure, In the Heart of the Sea, follows the true story of an American whaling ship that sunk after being rammed by an enraged sperm whale, leaving the crew stranded at sea -- an incident that inspired Herman Melville's classic, Moby Dick.

The final trailer for the film heavily focuses on a frame story that sees a young upstart Melville (Ben Whishaw) questioning a haggard sailor, saying, "I believe you have seen things no one else has seen." According to the trailer, he has seen a giant whale demolish a ship, the same whale eat a row boat full of fellow crewman and Chris Hemsworth attempt to kill said whale.

The story focuses on first mate Owen Chase, played by Hemsworth, who is determined to make sure that he and the crew survive. The film also stars Cillian Murphy, Brendan Gleeson, Tom Holland and a beautifully rendered CG sperm whale.

In the Heart of the Sea hits theaters on Dec.11.
