Jeffrey Fields, Starbucks Vice President of Design and Content, commented on the design, saying:
"We have anchored the design with the classic Starbucks holiday red that is bright and exciting," Starbucks vice president of Design and Content said in a statement. "The ombré creates a distinctive dimension, fluidity and weightedness."
The cups will be used to serve their seasonal beverages, like eggnog lattes and gingerbread lattes. And for the first time, it looks like there may also be a cold holiday cup.
In addition to rolling out their new seasonal cups (and a red cup emoji), Starbucks launched a social media campaign, using the hashtag #redcups. Most consumers voiced excitement that the holidays are upon us.
One Twitter user posted her excitement with an abundance of emojis:
True, we have a month and a half until autumn ends -- but if Starbucks has anything to say about it, the holiday season is right around the corner.
