Massive crack in ground appears suddenly in Wyoming
Mother Nature has all sorts of tricks up her sleeve, and among the latest is opening a massive crack in the Earth.
Days ago, hunting guides came upon a recently developed and truly enormous chasm in the ground in north central Wyoming.
According to one of them, the gaping hole was only a small crack about a month ago.
The gash is now roughly 150 feet wide and over 2,000 feet long.
Thankfully, nobody was likely in the area when the event occurred.
Researchers are investigating and thus far have developed a probable scenario.
Said a representative of the Wyoming State Geological Survey, "It appears this may be due to groundwater has created weakness in what is already a saturated hillside...the hillside shifted and caused a landslide with an associated large crack."
