Inside the insanely decadent life of Lady Kitty Spencer - Princess Diana's niece

Britain's Lady Kitty Spencer lives an insanely decadent lifestyle – but it's kind of expected considering she is aristocracy.

Lady Kitty is the eldest child of Charles Spencer, Princess Diana's brother, and former model Victoria Lockwood. She comes from a family allegedly worth around £100 million ($154 million). She was almost guaranteed to be glamourous from the day she was born.

Lady Kitty made her first public appearance when she was around 17 years old in 2007, after a decade of being out the spotlight. Since then she has led a public life of extravagant parties, traveling, and modeling.

It hasn't always been easy for Lady Kitty – her childhood was marred by her parents' public divorce, the death of the Princess of Wales, and her mother's stint in rehab for drug and alcohol addiction.

Business Insider took a look at her life through interviews with Tatler, Hello! and various other publications and from what she reveals on social media.

Lady Kitty Eleanor Spencer was born December 28, 1990.

She is the eldest daughter of Charles Spencer, 9th Earl Spencer and his first wife, Victoria Lockwood.

Lady Kitty's mother was a former model. Here she is in a 1992 Harper's Bazaar UK magazine shoot with Lady Kitty.

However, six months after giving birth to Lady Kitty, her first child, Lockwood discovered the Earl, then Viscount Althorp, was having an affair.

In 2008, Lockwood told Hello! magazine she overcame her heartache to have Eliza and Amelia in 1992, and Louis in 1994. Lady Kitty regularly posts pictures, old and new, of her siblings.

However, to escape public scrutiny, the family moved to South Africa in 1995.

1997 proved to be a harrowing year. First, her parents divorced. Lord Spencer moved back to Britain while Lady Kitty remained in South Africa with her mother.

Her family's fortune is estimated to be worth around £100 million ($154 million), according to divorce court proceedings at the time. However, her father's lawyers said in 1997 that most of the money is tied up in trusts and assets and Charles Spencer was actually broke.

Lockwood was treated for drug addiction and alcoholism in 1997, too. Lady Kitty told Tatler Magazine: "Obviously I'm aware of the facts but I just don't remember. My mother has been a counselor for 15 years and she has really educated us all about addiction and self-worth. We've never really wanted to rebel because she's always been so upfront and honest."

And of course 1997 was the year that Lady Kitty's aunt Diana – the Princess of Wales – died in a car accident. "Sadly, I have very few memories of my aunt. I was so young when she died," Lady Kitty told Tatler.

For the next 10 years, she spent her childhood out of the spotlight.

It was only in 2007 that she made her first public appearance. It was at a memorial service for Diana, Princess of Wales with her cousins Prince William and Prince Harry.

Around the same time she completed her studies at the finishing school for South Africa's elite, Reddam House. She then went on to study psychology, politics, and English literature at the University of Cape Town.

She then gained a MA in Luxury Brand Management from Regent's University London. Here is one of her graduation pictures on social media of her and her father.

Lady Kitty also popped onto the radar when she attended Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding in 2011 with her sisters Lady Amelia and Lady Eliza.

That same year, Tatler magazine named Lady Kitty "one of the most eligible girls in Britain."

Her life has pretty much been a whirlwind of parties and an extravagance ever since.

She also dedicates part of her time to charity, mainly one called "Give Us Time." The charity gives ex-military servicemen one week holidays to allow them to reconnect with their families. Here she is at one of the charity's events with UK Chancellor George Osborne.

But a lot of her time is spent traveling, attending events, and going to parties.

She regularly posts pictures of her holidays.

She posts a lot of her holiday pictures online and they usually involve the sun, sea, and friends.

And late nights out too.

Her 7,000 Instagram followers get regular updates on her shopping outings with girlfriends.

She occasionally takes time out to work. She does spot of modeling, including this photoshoot for Ralph Lauren.

Her Instagram also includes various run-ins with celebrities, including Harry Styles from the band One Direction.

She may be one of Britain's most sought after bachelorette, but she told Tatler that she has only had two boyfriends in her lifetime, "and they are still two of my best friends."

One of them is Niccolo Barattieri di San Pietro, CEO of finance and property investment firm Northacre. The pair reportedly dated for more than a year, splitting up recently.

Prior to that, Lady Kitty dated Somerset and England cricketer Nick Compton until 2013. She ended the relationship only one month after he was dropped from England's tour of Australia. He told the Daily Mail: "I found it hard to deal with both the England rejection and losing Kitty."

But Lady Kitty's closest relationship appears to be with her mother. She regularly posts pictures with her on social media.

She doesn't post many pictures with her father but she did put up a picture of him at her graduation dinner. She lives opposite Earl Spencer's West London mansion in a flat.

Fine dining seems to be another love of Lady Kitty. Here is a picture of one of the many fabulous meals she has while on holiday. This was was taken at the Castello del Nero Hotel & Spa in Italy.

She has also clearly got a sense of humour.

Despite her modeling career she's still clearly has a love of South African junk food.

And makes sure she doesn't take her diet too seriously.

She seems to be a fan of rapper and singer Nicki Minaj and has posted quite a few pictures of her on her Instagram account.

As well as her family dog.
