Dad enlists help of newborn daughter to propose to his girlfriend in the hospital
A new dad enlisted the help of his one-day-old daughter to propose to her mom while they were still in the hospital.
Michael Miles popped the question to his girlfriend of three years, Triston Lowery, after she gave birth to baby Lynleigh at a Mississippi hospital last Thursday.
On Friday, Michael conspired with hospital staff and Lynleigh was dressed in a onesie reading, "Will You Marry My Daddy?" Video footage captured the moment a nurse placed the newborn in her shocked mother's arms.

Speaking to INSIDE EDITION, Michael explained that Triston had wanted him to propose for a long time but he put it off until their baby daughter could be involved.
"I'm a family person," he said. "That's why I wanted our daughter to be a part of that special day. I wanted her to be there on the first day that we started our life together."
In the video, 18-year-old Triston looks at her daughter's onesie and then at Michael, 19, before reaching out to him and accepting the ring. Lynleigh seemed to know exactly what was going on, he said.
"She was looking around at everybody," he said. "If you look at the video, she grabs hold of Triston's finger and was smiling really big."
His wife-to-be was also overjoyed about the proposal, which was witnessed by their mothers, as well as her sisters and aunts.
"She was very, very happy about it and still is," he said.

The couple doesn't yet know when they'll get married and they are focusing on settling down with Lynleigh instead, he said.
"We were blessed enough to get our little bundle of joy early," the teen said of their daughter.
The video of the proposal, which was shared to Facebook over the weekend, has now been viewed more than 200,000 times. Michael, whose small rural town of Seminary has a population of just 314, cannot believe it.
"After the first day, more people had seen it than all of the people in Seminary!" he said, laughing.
