Alec Baldwin and Larry David dropped by Saturday Night Live's cold open to give Hillary Clinton (Kate McKinnon) a run for her money.

In the NBC sketch series' take on the Democratic debate, frequent SNL guest Baldwin played Jim Webb, while David played a cranky Bernie Sanders.

"I think you're really going to like the Hillary Clinton that my team and I have created for this debate," Clinton said at the start.

Sanders began by griping about the banks. "Why do they chain all their pens to the desk?" he asked. "Who's trying to steal a pen from a bank?"

Clinton claimed that Sanders was trying to sell the American people a golden goose, to which Sanders replied: "I can find the goose. I've found geese before, and I can find them again. They congregate near ponds. It's not rocket science."

Webb complained to moderator Anderson Cooper (Jon Rudnitsky) that he wasn't getting enough chances to answer questions. "I was promised I'd get time, and I've had no time," Webb said. "Where's my time?" Then, when Cooper asked Webb about his "A" rating from the NRA, Webb quickly clammed up.

Later, Sanders heralded himself as a political outsider: "I don't have a super PAC -- I don't even have a backpack. I carry my stuff around loose in my arms like a professor between classes."

Tracy Morgan hosted the episode, marking his first time returning to the show since his June 2014 limo accident. "It was awful, but it also showed me how much love and support I have in this world," he said in his monologue of the crash.

Morgan was also joined by his 30 Rock co-stars in the segment. "We're so happy that you're OK, but we're even happier that you're ready to make people laugh again," Tiny Fey told him.

Morgan reprised his role as Brian Fellow, interviewing animal handlers. "Now, most people hate camels -- why do you think that is?" he asked the person who brought a camel with her.

On a parody of Family Feud, Morgan played a contestant who was joined by his current wife and was facing off against his ex-wife. "The heart wants what it wants, Steve," Morgan explained to host Steve Harvey (Kenan Thompson).

Morgan and Thompson hosted a talk show in which they tried to nail down actor Jackie Chan's exact whereabouts. "Where the heck are you, Jackie Chan?" Morgan asked. "Don't do this to us."
