Raven Symone Facing Racist Backlash After "Black Names" Comments

Raven-Symone is stirring up controversy again.

NEWS: Raven-Symone: 'I Never Said I Wasn't Black'

The View co-host came under fire Friday after the talk show panel discussed a study that said Americans discriminate against people based on their names.

"Just to bring it back, can we take back 'racist' and say 'discriminatory,' because I think that's a better word," Raven said after the panel watched a viral video of the most "ghetto"-sounding names. "And I am very discriminatory against words like the ones that they were saying in the video. I'm not about to hire you if your name is Watermelondrea. It's just not going to happen. I'm not going to hire you."

While most of Raven's co-hosts laughed the comments off, Twitter was quick to reply to the 29-year-old's comments, calling her out for supporting discrimination.

Raven Symone pls stop. Please?
I am at a loss for words after hearing what @ravensymone said today on @TheView about Black names. Tell me she was being sarcastic. PLEASE.
#RavenSymone went on a big rant about not wanting to be labeled and now she's talking about labelling people due to their names? The irony..
It's really appalling that #RavenSymone is attributing to young black girls feeling like their names are too "ghetto".
@ravensymone, would you re-hire T'Keyah Crystal? You know, "Tanya/Mom" from #ThatsSoRaven? #RavenSymone http://t.co/OFsx6Q3B0p
