Kanye West Says President Obama Calls His House

President Barack Obama gave Kanye West some advice on the 2020 presidential campaign that the hip-hop star announced at the MTV Video Music Awards in August.

"It couldn't get any stranger," the president said when the two appeared at a fundraiser in San Francisco Saturday morning for the Democratic National Committee. "In case Kanye is serious about this whole POTUS thing, or, as Kanye calls it, 'Peezy,' I do have advice for him."

"You've got to deal with strange characters who behave as if they are on a reality TV show, so you gotta be cool with that," Obama continued. "Saying you have a beautiful dark twisted fantasy — that's what's known as off-message in politics." The president was of course referring to West's 2010 album "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy."

"Do you really think this country is going to elect a black guy from the south side of Chicago with a funny name to be president of the U.S.?" Obama added to great applause at the Warfield theater. "That is crazy. That's cray."

Air Force One landed at San Francisco International Airport late Friday night, where the president was greeted by California Gov. Jerry Brown and San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee.
