We're constantly searching for ways to revolutionize the ways we do everyday tasks -- from cooking to shopping, there's nothing that can stop us from wanting more, faster. Luckily, the NY Coffee Festival gave us even more reasons to celebrate.

Last weekend, at the 69th Regiment Armory in Manhattan, The NY Coffee Festival took place. It was a caffeine-lovers paradise. Just look for yourself:

Yep. There it is in all it's glory. More than 70 coffee, food and equipment suppliers showed up to show off their stuff.

One of the first stops we made was to the Alpha Dominiche stand where magic appeared before everyone's eyes -- a siphon-like coffee machine, known as the Steam Punk, is controlled with an iPad to brew the perfect cup of coffee or tea.

Here's how it works: Water is added and heated with steam, the filter piston of coffee is inserted, using the iPad steam-powered pre-infusion is initiated, steam-driven agitation cycles start full immersion, and then a vacuum extraction forces the coffee through the filter.

If that doesn't quite make sense, we don't blame you. It's coffee jargon. Check out a video of the machine in action, here.

If you're more of a traditional brewer, the next item we came across may be of interest to you. The SimpliPress is set to take the stage for the next wave of French Presses -- this one is mess-free and easy-to-use. Not only does this revolutionary press remove grimy sediments that come from French Press brewing due to too-small grinds, it is also seriously easy to clean due to its special vessel container.

The company is currently in production, but shipments are expected to go out in the next few months. In the meantime, you can donate to the company to back their mission for a cleaner, easier French Press.

But of course, no coffee festival would be complete without actual coffee. And that brings us to the next trend that appeared at the event: miniature. Yes, that's right, purely tiny, adorable, portable coffee containers. We could not be more in LOVE with this trend.

Not only is it adorable, it's practical! Just look at these adorable containers from Devocion:

... And Toby's Estate:

You can pick up these pretty little cold brews at their respective retailers. Perfect for a weekend trip or an on-the-go moment of need!

So, you heard it here first (probably?), the best new trend in coffee is small and portable. High tech is a definite yes, and don't forget your amazing coffee art on the way out.
