Police say a Florida man stole more than 4 million pounds of citrus.

Officers with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services arrested Bradley Reiter for stealing what comes out to more than $540,000 worth of citrus. According to the investigation, Reiter owns and operates Reiter Citrus, Inc and he made some shady deals with farmers and grove companies. Basically, he signed contracts saying he'll buy the fruit and take it off their land.

Reiter is clearly very good at the "taking" part, but he never paid for anything. Police also say he walked onto one grove without the owner's permission and took 180 boxes of oranges and grapefruit but only wrote a check for half of what he took.

All in all, police say Reiter took about 50,000 boxes of fruit from five different growers. He was booked on charges of scheme to defraud, grand theft, and dealing citrus without a license.
