The long awaited Tesla Model X is finally launching with the company's third car: an electric sports utility vehicle with doors that open up like two wings. According to Tesla's website, the Model X combines the uncompromised performance of the company's cars with the space and functionality of a seven-seat vehicle that looks way cooler than a van.

The company is clearly moving into a more mature phase where it tries to manage the production of multiple vehicles with different functionalities and features. According to Tesla's CEO Elon Musk, he does not want to compromise with the business side when it comes to product quality:

As Car And Driver points out, the Model X will have a range of 240 miles and its electric engines will propel you to 60 miles per hour in just 3.8 seconds with a top speed of 155 miles per hour. The car uses two motors, one for the front wheels and one for the back wheels. Its original prototype was revealed back in 2012, with an initial plan to start production in 2013, but Tesla announced that the production had been rescheduled and the car is finally ready to hit the market now.
