'Miracle baby' born with partial skull celebrates first birthday
Jaxon Emmett Buell was born with large sections of his skull and brain missing, and doctors said it was likely he would only live a few days. However, the little guy has beaten the odds and recently celebrated his first birthday.
Jaxon's father, Brandon, credits the amazing survival to the child's strength of will.
The family is also grateful for the generous support they received through GoFundMe. The fundraising campaign has pulled in over $60,000 so far, helping the family pay for Jaxon's care and medical expenses. The money has also allowed the boy's mother, Brittany, to stay at home with him.
"He thrives with his mom ... If we can keep Brittany at home, giving him that 24/7 care is truly priceless and that's what his account allows us to do," said Brandon Buell.
