Happy Birthday, Serena Williams!

Updated

On her 34th birthday, we're taking the time to honor one of the most dominant athletes of all time: Serena Williams.

Despite a premature exit from this month's U.S. Open, Serena is coming off one of the more amazing stretches of her career. She was a U.S. Open victory away from winning all four Grand Slams of the season -- something Steffi Graf last accomplished in 1988.

Still, Williams won the four previous Grand Slams in the calendar year leading up to the event. At 33, she put together one of her best campaigns yet. And there's every indication that more is to follow at 34.
