New 'Floating seahorse' homes are the partially submerged houses of our dreams
We all love a little bit of everything. A little hot with a little cold, a little salt with a little sugar and even a little water with a little air. Thus, Dubai's newest project, the "Floating Seahorse," is a lavish version of exactly what we didn't know we needed. The floating home is partially submerged underwater, giving it some underwater rooms and some above-water rooms.
Dubai developer Kleindienst Group revealed the stunner at the Dubai International Boat Show in March. The group announced that they plan to have 42 complete structures finished by the end of 2016.
The awe-striking structures are set to have three different levels, one of which will be completely underwater. The master bedroom and bathroom of the homes will be on the lowest level, fully submerged in water with panoramic underwater views. Talk about a decent view.
The group has quite the elaborate plan for these Floating Seahorses. According to a Kleindienst Group press release, there will be actual seahorses living in the same area as the floating houses. The company said:
"We will create an artificial coral reef beneath the luxury retreats which will be a protected area in which seahorses can safely live and breed."
As of this month, 35 of the 42 units have already been sold. Better start making calls now before they're all gone! We think we can certainly get used to these kinds of houses.
