Abortion hashtag is stirring up a mix of controversy and support
With the recent House of Representatives suspension of federal funding for Planned Parenthood, pro-abortion rights supporters across the U.S. are shouting back.

It all started when Lindy West, a writer from Seattle, shared the following Facebook post by Amelia Bonow below:
The hashtag #ShoutYourAbortion exploded after West tweeted out her own personal abortion story, to urge women to not be ashamed of their medical procedures. Of course, like any controversial issue, Twitter erupted with opinions, both in support of West, and against.
Many women followed West's lead and shared their own story, using #ShoutYourAbortion:
Abortion is a medical procedure, not a moral quagmire. It is more dangerous to give birth than it is to have an abortion. #shoutyourabortion

However, many Twitter users find the hashtag to be offensive, and are voicing their opinions:
