Everything from the iconic Rachel hair-do, to the countless times you have already referenced the show, "Friends" became a pop culture staple that still rings true today. Thanks to Netflix, a brand new audience has been able to bask in the greatness of Phoebe's hilarious antics and Rachel's attempt to make a trifle for Thanksgiving dinner.

It is hard to believe that the show premiered 21 years ago today on NBC. In order to commemorate this momentous occasion, we've decided to create a list of the 21 times "Friends" taught us a life lesson.

1.) Dance like no one is watching, because it's the best.



2.) Never tell a lie because you will end up having to wear blue lip balm.

3.) But sometimes a little white lie can save your best friends relationship.


4.) Never put beef in the trifle.


5.) Don't let what people think about you affect you.



6.) Always take measurements if you are moving.


7.) Never, ever mix lotion and baby powder. It will form a paste.


8.) Money can't buy you happiness.


9.) If you are in a tanning both, never count count Mississippi-ly.



10.) Live life without regrets, because odds are it tastes better.


11.) Don't try and seduce anyone with a knife and carrots.


12.) Always know the difference between "your" and "you're."



13.) Never cheat.



14.) You can do anything you set your mind to.


15.) Always, ALWAYS say the right name at your wedding.


16.) Never brag you have all the cheesecake.


17.) It's not good to fall asleep in the sand.



18.) Stay young at heart.



19.) You're never too old to dress up for Halloween.



20.) Growing up sucks.


21.) But, your friends will always be there for you.
