It's been 7 years since baseball was played at the old Yankee Stadium

Updated

The New York Yankees have been in their new home for seven season now, but their old home shut its doors precisely seven years ago today.

The Yankees beat the Baltimore Orioles on Sunday, Sept. 21 in the second incarnation of Yankee Stadium, marking their final regular season victory there before failing to qualify for the 2008 playoffs.

Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez combined to go 0-for-7 in the game, while Jose Molina went 3-for-4 and Johnny Damon hit a three-run home run. Andy Pettite got the win and Mariano Rivera closed out the game, despite no save being needed in the 7-3 victory.
