14 fully-charged cheeseburger recipes for National Cheeseburger Day
It's time to fire up the grill for the last time this season or head over to your favorite all-American eatery because today is National Cheeseburger Day!
According to Thrillist, hamburgers were an ancient culinary invention. Meat patties were eaten by nomadic Mongols under Genghis Khan way back in the 12th century. The cheeseburger came years later because of a 16-year-old kid in Pasadena. Back in 1926, Lionel Sternberger, the son of the owner of a little sandwich joint called The Rite Spot, decided to slap a piece of American cheese on top of a burger patty as it was frying. Thus, the cheeseburger was born.
What started off as a curious kid's hunger games, ended up as an all-American classic. Make sure you deliciously pay homage by enjoying a cheese burger today!
