You won't believe the reasons these people got fired

Getting hired for a new job is always an exciting event. Not only does it mean working in a field that one is (hopefully) passionate about, but it also means financial and medical security so long as one performs well in the newly acquired position.

Unfortunately, though, some bosses deem personal situations or events reason to be fired. Everyone likes to think that their bosses would be understanding about mental health issues, medical emergencies and physical appearances, but it seems that this assumption isn't always accurate.

Several people who were fired for their jobs for bizarre, unconventional or downright shocking reasons took to Whisper, the popular app that provides an anonymous platform for people to share their most honest thoughts, to share their stories.

Apparently some companies deem epilepsy unacceptable:
I was fired for having a seizure at work. They hired me knowing I was epileptic.

Because tattoos obviously inhibit one's ability to nanny:
I was fired from a nanny job because they found out I had tattoos.

Sadly, some deem profanity worse than harassment:
I got fired for cursing at the guy who sexually harassed me. he got a promotion.

To some bosses, appearance is everything:
I got fired for having "hair too bright" it's my natural colour

Even a once-in-a-lifetime event isn't excused while on the clock:
My boyfriend proposed to me at work(: my boss fired me on the spot.

Not all mental illnesses affect a person's work performance:
I finally opened up to my boss about my mental illness and I got fired because of it.

It's a dog-eat-dog world out there:
I got fired for being too nice to the senior citizens

Apparently kindness merits losing one's job:
I was fired for giving a veteran a free meal. I'd do it again, no regrets!

"It's not personal, it's business...":
I was fired because my black boss didn't approve of my interracial relationship.

Some are even fired for their body types:
I was fired after one day of work, I did nothing wrong. My "boss" just said she didn't need me. She later told my best friend, who also works there, that she wants her to bring in skinny people not fat people like me.

Medical emergencies apparently don't matter to some companies:
I was fired from a job for not being reliable after I had a cyst rupture.

Sometimes prior notice just isn't possible:
I got into a car accident on my way to work. I shattered my pelvis, broke my collarbone, and was severely concussed. My boss fired me because I didn't call to say I couldn't make it.

Some people are very particular about their stapling methods:
I was just fired because I couldn't staple papers to my boss's satisfaction
