Heat waves, melting ice caps and rising sea levels are nothing compared to what seems to be the most annoying outcome of global warming: swarms of giant arctic mosquitoes. As researchers at Dartmouth confirmed, warmer temperatures are a treat for mosquitoes that manage to thrive and grow bigger.
According to Time, temperatures in the Arctic have increased at twice the global rate in the past 100 years, and the recent study found that even a minimal increment of 2 degrees Celsius can boost the mosquitoes' population up 50 percent.
