Vivienne Tam's 'boy meets girl' Spring 2016 collection

Vivienne Tam's SS16 show did not keep you guessing. The entire show, it was very obvious what her collection stood for and what trends she stood behind. The show opened with a series of monochromatic designs, all in grey, black, and white. The next series was brighter in pinks and greens, but in the same a-line silhouettes as the first set. Some pieces had quirky graphics, while others had bold monogramming – but the one consistency across nearly every look was the menswear meets femininity aesthetic. Ruffles and flutter hems adorned nearly every dress and skirt, but were contrasted with baseball jackets of varying fabrics and silhouettes worn over the top. As someone with a "boy meets girl" style myself, I couldn't decide what I loved more – the baseball jackets, the feminine ruffles, or the fact that they were paired together!
