The scene was set on the Hudson River, with One World Trade in the background and performance artist Marina Ambravoic, the show's Artistic Director, creating the perfect atmosphere as night fell on New York City. Riccardo Tisci's Spring collection had an audience of high-powered fashion influencers, plenty of big celebrity names, and over 800 members of the public who won tickets earlier this week as he showed his collection for the first time in New York. From Julia Roberts to Steven and Liv Tyler, Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, Amanda Seyfried and Nicki Minaj (to name a few) it was a sight to behold even before the runway began.

Models glided down the incredibly long runway, having to walk up and down several sets of stairs (which did not go well for a couple of models who took an unfortunate tumble). It was a show primarily of womenswear, but also had a smattering of powerhouse menswear. Plenty of which we can see Kanye wearing in the near future.

Givenchy for spring is glamorous with an edge, featuring lots of lace and silky dresses with a nightgown feel, hints of leather and gorgeous jackets. The few couture gowns that walked the pier last night were breathtaking. Paired with masks, these gowns garnered the most oohs and aahs from the crowd of 800+ public invitees, and they're bound to be the most talked-about pieces over the next few weeks.
