Tech billionaire Elon Musk broke it all down to a very simple lesson: if you want to make Mars habitable quickly, all you have to do is drop thermonuclear weapons on its poles. Musk explained this in reply to Stephen Colbert's comment that the planet is not very welcoming to humankind, during The Late Show on Wednesday.

These are the first two full-resolution images of the Martian surface from the Navigation cameras on NASA's Curiosity rover, which are located on the rover's 'head' or mast.
