As autumn ramps up in New York, restaurant openings are piling up. And one chef in particular is creating a lot of buzz in the city.

16-year-old Flynn McGarry is ramping up to open his first restaurant, Eureka, on September 12th. And while most people his age are focused on SAT scores, he's focused more on Michelin stars.

The teenager has been busy promoting his food and his restaurant on his Twitter and Instagram pages. The pop-up is so popular that Eureka's website crashed within hours of its launch on Monday.

McGarry is no stranger to the kitchen. His cooking skills have nabbed him the cover of The New York Times Magazine before he was even legally old enough to drive a car. The teenager first earned notoriety for his supper club held at his family house in California's San Fernando Valley. The popularity of the supper club eventually transformed into pop-up Eureka and began operating out of a Los Angeles restaurant. Now, McGarry is switching coasts to bring his food to a larger, but just as exclusive, audience.

Eureka will be a twelve-seat chef's counter operating in the Creative Edge space in the West Village three nights a week. There, the 16-year-old will prepare a 14-course meal that includes one of McGarry's signature items of peanut ritz crackers with foie gras terrine and sour cherry compote.

"Peanut butter and Ritz is everyone's favorite snack, not just mine," he told Food and Wine, noting that making the dessert is a timely process.

"They're fun, but a pain in the ass. I make the ridges on each cracker with a toothpick," McGarry said.

Also on the menu is sea-water-brined sea urchin with carrot cremeaux, and coffee-pickled carrots and dishes.

If you're feeling thirsty, there is also a wine pairing option for $80. Reservations are ticketed and can be made on Eureka's website.
