The first trailer for "The Danish Girl" is out and it's incredible.

At a time when being transgender was not widely accepted, pioneering transgender artist Lili Elbe took the first step bringing it to the forefront.

Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne plays Lili in a stunning portrayal and look into her transition in the late 1920s, as well as the relationship between her and her wife, Gerda (played by Alicia Vikander).

The film is based on David Ebershoff's historical account of Lili's ground-breaking transition and tells the story right from the beginning of Lili's journey. "The Danish Girl" is more timely than ever and it's safe to say there could be another Oscar in Redmayne's future.
