Vermont man accidentally shoots his 9-year-old daughter

Vermont resident Randy Babcock was clearing his .22-caliber handgun when it accidentally fired, causing him to shoot his 9-year-old daughter, McKenzie Ezzo.

The young girl was shot in the stomach and taken to Rutland Regional Medical Center before she was flown to the UVM Medical Center, where she underwent surgery for the gun wound.

Ezzo is now recovering in the intensive care unit, and police are still thoroughly investigating the situation. As of now, no charges have been filed.
