With Calgary's Pride Week in full swing, most are embracing the rainbow colored atmosphere. Calgary's public transportation is even showing their Pride support with rainbow covered buses.

For bus driver, Jesse Rau, Calgary Pride Week is not a jubilant occasion. He says his Catholic religion does not allow for him to support Gay Pride.

"I'm a Christian so, as a Christian, there are things like homosexuality that I just can't condone. Unfortunately, we live in a culture where if you disagree with someone's lifestyle, the accusation is that you hate the person."

According to Doug Morgan, director of Calgary Transit, drivers can only refuse to work based on safety issues. Calgary Pride's director of government affairs, Craig Sklenar added, "It's a sign of the change in Calgary."

So far, no word on whether or not Rau has been assigned to drive the Pride bus this week.
