"Sex and the City" (SATC) was a television phenomenon from 1998 to 2004, and still rules the world through syndication.

We all know that Carrie Bradshaw was a female and fashion icon for many...but did you know that Sarah Jessica Parker (SJP) didn't originally want to play the now iconic role?

In a recent post on Playbill.com, her Broadway costar and Playbill columnist Seth Rudetsky writes SJP revealed to him that she was reluctant to play Carrie in "SATC" because she didn't want to do a television series.

However, Rudetsky says that SJP loved the script, and went through with the pilot episode. Although she respected the show, she still was NOT about it. He also writes that "months later she found out the show was picked up and she completely wanted to get out of it. I mean, completely."

Thankfully for us (and SJP, too), HBO convinced her to stick with it. Rudetsky writes "basically, they convinced her to honor her deal, and she now has no regrets."

We want to know, which "SATC" character do you most identify with?
