2 dead, 6 injured in 4 separate shootings across New Orleans metro area

There were four separate shootings on Tuesday night across the New Orleans metro area, killing two people and injuring six.

The first shooting was reported around 5 p.m. on Tuesday evening, and police say that a 2-year-old and a man in his 30s were shot while they were sitting on the front porch of a home. The toddler was shot in the leg, and the man died hours later at a hospital.

Investigators believe that the man and child were approached by two men who got out of a vehicle, and they think the situation may have just escalated from there. Officials say that the two men opened fire on the man and child after an exchange of words.

After 6 p.m. on that same evening, another man was shot multiple times and taken to the hospital in critical condition, and an hour later, four other people were shot.

Police say that one man was found dead and three others were taken to the hospital by a private vehicle. Two hours later, police got a call about another shooting, and they found a man who had been shot in the leg.
