Woman downs entire bottle of cognac at airport security

Updated

There's nothing more frustrating than attempting to limit our traveling liquids to 3.4 ounces or less when catching a flight. We've all experienced the sadness and anger of throwing out a perfectly good jug of water, a nice perfume, or a bottle of sunscreen in order to get through airport security.

One woman was determined not to let her goods go to waste at the hands of the anxiety-inducing rule. After a failed attempt to board her flight in Beijing with a $180 bottle of Rémy Martin XO Excellence, she was told that she could either throw the cognac away or consume it.

Thus, the woman chugged the entire bottle right there at security control. Unfortunately (though not surprisingly), the act proved unsuccessful as the woman "started shouting incoherently and fell to the floor, which is where she stayed until she was removed by security."

Not only did the woman become dangerously intoxicated, but she also wasted money on the flight that she was no longer able to board. At least she saved the cognac, though!

When the police removed the woman from the airport in a wheelchair, her family picked her up and took care of her until she became sober again. Traveling can be a serious drag, amiright? We're glad the woman is safe and sound at home.

Perhaps this woman should have a drink with Jay-Z, who drinks cognac out of a Grammy:
