When this tiny 10-week-old puppy, Lisa, was brought to the Humane Society of Silicon Valley (HSSV), she had scars all over her face and inflamed eyelids that required surgery. The shelter staff was worried they wouldn't be able to find a home for little Lisa, until Christine Doblar and her two daughters came in.

"It doesn't occur to her that she is different from other puppies"

The shelter was unaware what the puppy went through before arriving at HSSV, but described Lisa as "a pretty typical wiggly, squirmy, happy puppy. She loves other dogs and toys, is ridiculously kissy and she'll lick your nose clean off...She wasn't hesitant or frightened or timid at all," HSSV's Finnegan Dowling told The Dodo.

Well, it was this love that drew in Christine Doblar and her two daughters to Lisa the puppy. The family drove home to make a decision about the dog, but Doblar says "my girls were freaking out the whole time that somebody else was going to take her."

So the Doblar's drove back that very same day to adopt the "funky" looking dog. They renamed her Lucky, because they all feel "lucky" to have found each other.
