Deez Nuts endorses Bernie Sanders, John Kasich for primaries

Presidential candidate Deez Nuts, a 15-year-old Iowan named Brady Olson, has formally chosen who he'd like to face in the general election, endorsing Bernie Sanders and John Kasich for the Democratic and Republican presidential nominations.

Posting Friday on the Deez Nuts for President 2016 Facebook page, Olson/Nuts threw his support behind the two candidates, while reminding supporters that for the general election, "I endorse myself."

Reached for comment by In These Times, Olson said he was backing Sanders "because he almost completely agrees on me with social issues and even some on fiscal issues."

Unfortunately for the struggling Kasich, when Olson was pressed on whether he believed his endorsements would make any difference in either the Democratic or Republican primaries, the candidate responded, "Not really."

Also on Friday, Google Trends reported that "Deez Nuts" had surpassed "Hillary Clinton" and "Donald Trump" when it came to search interest, though Nuts has since fallen back well behind Trump, who retains his perch as the biggest troll in presidential politics.
