Last year, we had #RE2PECT. This season, we have #BAREOD.
The New York Yankees' extraordinarily awkward love affair with Alex Rodriguez is in full swing after the 40-year-old belted a go-ahead grand slam Wednesday against the Minnesota Twins. And when the love is real, you get pet names. Like BAE-ROD.
There's no telling if this will actually end up being a thing, but the Yankees are trying like hell to make it happen.

We can just go ahead and ignore the year-plus that the two sides seemed to be on the outs, with the Yankees refusing to acknowledge Rodriguez's milestones and challenging him to sue.
'Sall good. A-Rod is bae. For the next three seasons, at least.
