Ed Sheeran sings a tease of Justin Bieber's new single 'What Do You Mean'

Justin Bieber recently recruited some of his famous friends to help promote the countdown to his new single "What Do You Mean" -- which will be released on August 28th. He most recently had a little help from Ed Sheeran.

But, fans are wondering if Sheeran sang the actual lyrics from the song or if it's all just a ploy as part of the countdown tease.

With guitar in hand, the 24-year-old pop sensation played (what seemed to be) an acoustic lick from Bieber's new song. The video was posted to Bieber's Instagram and had fans jumping with excitement at what might be the first reveal of the song's lyrics. Take a listen below.

Bieber will make a special performance at Billboard's inaugural Hot 100 Music Festival at Jones Beach, New York on August 23 and is set to perform "Where Are Ü Now" with Skrillex. Maybe he'll tease more of "What Do You Mean" at the festival also? We could be so lucky.
