The Notebook, the Nicholas Sparks book-turned-tear duct-catalyzing 2004 film starring Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling, is being considered for a TV adaptation, the CW network announced during the Television Critics Association summer press tour on Tuesday.

Oh yeah. This is real.

The logline reads that the "series will follow the romantic journey of the two beloved central characters Noah and Allie, at the outset of their blossoming relationship as they build their lives and their future together against the backdrop of the racial politics, economic inequities, and social mores of post-World War II of the late 1940s in North Carolina."

It's not known yet whether the project will be greenlit, but if it does, we might need to stock up on a few hundred tissue boxes. Because if the TV show has even a fraction of the passion...
