Tali Lennox-Fruchtmann (daughter of Annie Lennox) and boyfriend Ian Jones were involved in a kayaking accident in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., on Saturday, Aug. 8.

While Lennox-Fruchtmann was examined at the scene and did not need treatment, Jones is still missing, officials have confirmed to People.

The kayak they were in capsized around 9:30 a.m. local time on the Hudson River near the Staatsburgh State Historic Site, according to Dutchess County Sheriff's Captain John Watterson. Watterson says that the river's strong current and alcohol may have played a part in the incident, and that there is a chance that Jones may have drowned. The search for him continued on Sunday, Aug. 9.

"The current in the Hudson River is very strong and we believe the current played a role in the kayak capsizing," he says, "and once the two got in the water it was difficult for them to stay together."

The Poughkeepsie Journal reports that Lennox-Fruchtmann and Jones were not wearing life preservers.

"We're doing everything we can to find him. We hope to find him alive and well," Watterson is quoted as saying.

Jones, pictured above with Lennox-Fruchtmann, is 32 years old and described as 6'3" with a slim build and dark hair. He was last seen wearing jeans and a denim shirt.

Anyone who has information about him is asked to contact the Dutchess County Sheriff by calling 845-486-3800 or 845-605-2583, or by emailing dcsotips@gmail.com.
