Woman may have spotted her missing son in the background of a Facebook photo

Anyone who is a Chelsea fan or is friends with one (especially if they go to watch them) can you please share this...

A heartbroken mother, Lesley Edwards, swears she saw her son, who has been missing for 11 months, in the background of a photograph at a Blues' pre-season game against Fiorentina on Wednesday. She is now pleading for help from Chelsea fans and Facebook users to help her locate her son.

Edwards, 54, has been searching for Jon Anderson Edwards non-stop for the past 11 months. He disappeared while working in Lagos, Portugal in September 2014. Lesley even traveled to Lagos to try to find her son. Jon is a chef and is originally from Scotland. The 31-year-old suffered head injuries in a fall one day and then failed to show up at work.

Later, his friends discovered that he had left his apartment along with his clothes, passport, and phone. Police efforts in both Portugal and the UK have failed to find the man.

When Lesley's friend pointed the picture out to her, her face went white. The boy in the crowd at the Blues' game looked exactly like her son. She told Mirror Online:

"We've been searching for him for almost a year now and we've had so many wrong sightings and different twists and turns but I saw that picture last night and said 'God that looks like John'. My heart skipped a beat and I was up half the night. Even if we can find the information to discount it at least we can move on but if it's not him it's his absolute double."

Lesley is looking for help from anyone who may be able to either confirm the sighting or rule it out to give her some peace of mind. The photo has already been shared more than 6,500 times on Facebook. Lesley said:

"The search was really well publicised over in Portugal but we've never had any information, it's a mystery. He went out on a Friday night and had a fall and said he'd been feeling sick and dizzy afterwards. He went missing without his phone, clothes and passport. We're contacting the club and police to try and get to the bottom of it but we're hoping someone out there who was at the game or recognises him may be able to help us."

If you have any information for Lesley about the photo or Jon, please contact Police Scotland on 101.
