Thursday night, 10 Republican 2016 hopefuls will take the stage for the Fox News presidential debate. The roster was selected based on averages from the most recent national polls, but there are also 7 other candidates vying for their party's nomination who won't go head-to-head at the event.

Read below to get to know the candidates:


Name: Donald John Trump
Born: June 14, 1946 (age 69), Queens, New York City, NY
What he's known for: Trump is best known for the fortune he amassed as a real estate mogul and for his show "The Apprentice."
What you can expect him to talk about: Trump has not shied away from making his controversial feelings on immigration and Hispanic immigrants known, going so far as to call many of them "criminals and rapists."
Fun fact: The famed businessman has filed for bankruptcy four times, but always managed to bounce back.


2. Jeb Bush
Full name: John Ellis "Jeb" Bush
Born: February 11, 1953 (age 62), Midland, TX
What he's known for: With one of the most famous names in politics, Bush served as the governor of Florida from 1999 to 2007. He's related to three different presidents: his father George H.W., his brother George W, and Franklin Pierce -- a distant cousin of his mother's.
What you can expect him to talk about: Immigration is a huge focus for Bush. He recently unveiled his border security and immigration reform plan.
Fun fact: Bush graduated in only 2 and a half years from the University of Texas.

Name: Scott Kevin Walker
Born: November 2, 1967 (age 47), Colorado Springs, CO
What he's known for: Walker currently serves as governor of Wisconsin.
What you can expect him to talk about: Walker is in favor of reforming government welfare programs and requiring drug tests for benefits.
Fun fact: He is first governor in United States history to survive a recall election

Name: Michael Dale "Mike" Huckabee
Born: August 24, 1955 (age 59), Hope, AR
What he's known for: Huckabee was the Governor of Arkansas from 1996 to 2007, and he hosted "Huckabee" on Fox News.
What you can expect him to talk about: Huckabee very publicly slammed the recent Supreme Court ruling on gay marriage, and is a staunch pro-life advocate.
Fun fact: Huckabee plays bass in the a rock band called Capitol Offense.


Name: Dr. Benjamin Solomon "Ben" Carson, Sr.
Born: September 18, 1951 (age 63), Detroit, MI
What he's known for: A famous neurosurgeon who spent years in medicine before focusing on politics, Carson was the first doctor to separate conjoined twins joined at the head.
What you can expect him to talk about: His views on abortion and opposition to federal funding for Planned Parenthood. He frequently tweets using #PlannedParenthood.
Fun fact: He had a small part in the film "Stuck On You" starring Matt Damon and Greg Kinnear.

Name: Rafael Edward "Ted" Cruz
Born: December 22, 1970 (age 44), Calgary, Canada
What he's known for: He's the junior senator from Texas who rode the Tea Party wave into office.
What you can expect him to talk about: Cruz has said it's still his goal to repeal the Affordable Care Act.
Fun/interesting fact: He's the first Hispanic American to serve Texas in the Senate. He's also embraced pop culture and done impressions of "Simpsons" characters.

Name: Marco Antonio Rubio
Born: May 28, 1971 (age 44), Miami, FL
What he's known for: Rubio has served as the junior United States Senator from Florida since 2011.
What you can expect him to talk about: As the son of Cuban immigrants, Rubio has a unique perspective on the subject of immigration.
Fun fact: Rubio was Florida's youngest state House speaker ever. He also took to Twitter to share that he hates the Bee Gees but loves Nicki Minaj.

Born: January 7, 1963 (age 52), Pittsburgh, PA
What he's known for: He's the son of libertarian icon Ron Paul, and has represented Kentucky in the U.S. Senate since 2011.
What you can expect him to talk about: Paul is strongly against abortion and led the recent charge to try and defund Planned Parenthood.
Fun fact: Rand Paul doesn't have an undergraduate degree, he was accepted to Duke medical school based on his strong MCAT score.

Name: Christopher James "Chris" Christie
Born: September 6, 1962 (age 52), Newark, NJ
What he's known for: He's the current governor of New Jersey who made national headlines for his staff's involvement in the "Bridgegate" scandal. He's also known for using blunt language with constituents.
What you can expect him to talk about: Christie has been outspoken about his views on education, publicly battling New Jersey teacher's unions.
Fun fact: Christie loves Bruce Springsteen and says he's been to more than 100 of his concerts.


10. John Kasich
Name: John Richard Kasich
Born: May 13, 1952 (age 63), McKees Rocks, PA
What he's known for: He's served as the Governor of Ohio since 2011.
What you can expect him to talk about: He's known as a fiscal hawk after his time serving as chairman of the House Budget Committee, and will most likely focus on the economy.
Fun fact: He used to host the show "Heartland with John Kasich" on Fox News.
