Astronaut Scott Kelly just got an important message from Earth, but it didn't come from NASA.

Kelly has been orbiting Earth since March, as part of his mission to spend a full year in space aboard the International Space Station.

He's been using the station's Internet access the way so many of us do: to chat with people on Twitter.

After Kelly invited people to ask him questions using the hashtag "Year in Space," he was asked about his living situation, as well as what it's like to sneeze in zero gravity.

But one of the questions came from none other than President Obama, who reached out to Kelly from his personal Twitter account.

"Hey @StationCDRKelly, loving the photos," he wrote. "Do you ever look out the window and just freak out?"

Kelly responded, "I don't freak out about anything, Mr. President. Except getting a Twitter question from you."

And he wasn't the only one freaking out! Commenters called the exchange "out of this world," "epic," "so cool" and "the best tweet ever."

Really, the only way this could've been better is if the president had responded with a classic "Beam me up, Scotty."
