Li Rongjun -- an architect in China -- took recycling to a whole new level with this amazing house.

At the start of the project, Rongjun only had $11,000 and 8,500 discarded beer bottles, but he quickly utilized those resources and made something incredible.

Over the span of four months, he used the bottles to build the second floor of his two-story house in China. In fact, at least 30 layers of beer bottles hold the top level of the house together. Have no fear, though. The bottom level of the house if environmentally friendly, too: It was build with mud in brick.

The whole house comes out to be about 312 square feet -- a size which some consider to be quite tiny -- and each floor rises to be about nine feet high.

While this house is amazing, Rongjun wasn't the first person to think of this idea. In fact, the idea of turning bottles into building material has become increasingly popular. A plastic bottle-based house is currently being built in Nigeria:
