Meryl Streep is basically the queen of acting. We can all agree on that, right?

In her latest role, Streep plays a rock-and-roll superstar in "Ricki and the Flash" who decides to give up her stardom and make her way back home to mend things with her family.

Making an appearance to promote the film, Streep sat down with TODAY's Savannah Guthire to talk about the new role. In this film, the Hollywood icon plays a lot of guitar, naturally, because she is a rock star and she needed the right people to make it perfect. Enlisting the likes of Rick Springfield, who also stars in the movie, Bernie Worrell and Joe Vitale among others.

We think it's safe to say that she nails this role as well.

She is clearly known for diving deep into her characters and doing whatever she needs to ensure that executes them perfectly. Remember the Witch in "Into the Woods," or Miranda Priestly in "The Devil Wears Prada," so good!
