#CleanPowerPlan takes over Twitter as Obama makes big announcement
At 2:15 p.m. on Monday August 3, President Barack Obama addressed the final version of his climate change policy which plans to cut carbon dioxide emissions from U.S. power plants.
Twitter users showed their excitement leading up to the press conference by using the hashtag #CleanPowerPlan:

The hashtag continued to trend while Obama spoke to the nation via video, and Twitter users continued to tweet out their thoughts and excitement surrounding the new program:
